The Fourth Effect builds its 2026 summit on the book — 'not because people fail, but because structures do'

The Fourth Effect's annual summit, an invitation-only convening of 200-plus founders, investors and cross-sector leaders in New York on Tuesday 27 October, takes 'Governance, Ownership, and the Future of Value Creation' as its theme and names Incorruptible on its own programme page as the framing. The organisers single out financial gravity — Eric's term for the structural pull toward extraction — as mirroring the question they set for the year. The programme runs to Justin Rockefeller of The ImPact, former Revlon general counsel Cari Robinson, and four Kirkland & Ellis partners. Eric is not a speaker; the book is being used as the intellectual frame for someone else's room.

“Incorruptible by Eric Ries asks why good companies go bad, and lands on an answer we recognize: not because people fail, but because structures do.” — The Fourth Effect, Summit 2026 programme
