Pranav Lakshminarayan on day one of The AI Conference — 'The throughline of the day was governance, not models'

Lakshminarayan works in analytics and AI. His day-one writeup from The AI Conference names the Eric Ries and Tim O'Reilly keynote conversation, “Building AI Companies That Matter,” as his favourite session, and reads the day as being about governance.

“Incredible day 1 at The AI Conference in San Francisco! The throughline of the day was governance, not models. My favorite part of the keynote was the discussion between Eric Ries and Tim O'Reilly ("Building AI Companies That Matter") which made the case that endurance is a systems problem. Tim O'Reilly’s key point was that the teams doing well with AI aren't the ones with the fanciest stack but the ones who redesigned how work flows around it. Ries added that missions don't die from bad intent; they erode when incentives quietly pull the other way, so governance has to be engineered, not just stated.” — Pranav Lakshminarayan on LinkedIn
